Tastoan mask made of calfskin. The headdress is made of a natural fiber called ixtle, which color is mostly natural. The details of this mask are hand-painted in acrylic, and polychromed.
The decoration of the mask is exquisite, with vibrant colors in shades of yellow, that stand out on his nose.
The Nahual is a protective warrior, part of the mythology of Tonalá. The iconography has numerous meanings, for example the dots that can be founded around the eyes and through his face that represents the smallpox disease which was very common in the Spanish conquest.
